"Our basement flooded and apparently we didn’t opt in to coverage for backed-up sewer or pipes. I asked Amy to confirm that someone had asked us about this coverage and that we had denied the coverage. I also asked how this wouldn’t be under weather-related damage since we are experiencing a lot of rainfall at this time. She got very defensive and kept repeating the same unhelpful information over and over. Then said she “didn’t want to argue” which shouldn’t even be an option if you are practicing good customer service. And if, as an insurance company, you are breaking every possible situation down into an additional option that needs to be accepted, then you should probably expect people to be upset when they realize you will not be helping them in a crisis. Amy also repeated several times that we could add it for “next time.” Which was extremely distasteful because it felt like a sales pitch. Additionally, we get repeated calls from this office trying to sell us additional coverage, which gets very annoying. Recently, they called to ask me if I wanted to add homeowners insurance when I actually already had homeowners insurance. A lot of good that homeowner’s policy is doing me now!"
